Anyone out there? It's been a while, hasn't it? Life has been busy--surprise! I celebrated my 44th birthday a couple of weeks ago. Last week was husband's 44th and daughter's 16th!

We enjoyed a long weekend at HHI to celebrate together. It was fun being at the beach again. We've not been down since the end of August, way too long ago. It was cold and a little drizzly while we were there, but even a "bad" day at the beach is a good one in my book. Like they say "if you're lucky enough to live on the water, you're lucky enough."

The Truth Is Out There

There has been a BIG kefuffle on a couple of popular on line knitting communities the past several days regarding a semi-well known indie dyer and pattern designer who has been accused faking her own death. Supposedly, this person even set up sock puppet accounts and continued to post to one of these comunities after her death, going so far as to post in her own condolence. I just don't know what to say to that. What would make a person think it's OK to pretend to be dead? It's OK to put people through sympathetic pain about your supposed illness and death? I believe in Karma, what goes around comes around. I don't think it's ever wise to joke around about something like your own untimely death, but this person took it much further than a simple joke. That's so not cool. This morning, I was reading a topic in a group devoted to this person's designs and went back into old ones to see where so many trusting people had written how sorry they were for this person's death, how sad they were for the friends and family left behind, and how obvious it was that this person was well thought of in the on line community. Reading those heart-felt posts and knowing that there was an incredibly good chance that this person is still alive and kicking made me sick to my stomach. Hearing that the person very likely read and participated in this or a similar topic absolutely disgusts me. What is wrong with people?
